Aun Kheng Lim Salted Chicken 宴琼林盐焗鸡
-
Ayam Garam Aun Kheng Lim. It was Ipoh’s famous salted chicken. Recommended by 8TV Ho Chak.

Ipoh’s famous “Big Tree’s Foot” (called Tai Shu Keok in Cantonese) which located at Pasir Pinji with a friend. Basically, this place is kinda dusty and untidy as it’s located by the roadside. The hawkers erected some canopies probably due to some complaints by customers that leaves falling from above.
Most of the yong tau fu we had were decent but not really outstanding. The only item that was special enough to be memorable was the ‘sar kot’ (stuffed turnip) – mainly because it was my first time having it, and we don’t get this in KL. But then again, I get comments saying there are plenty of other places that make tastier ‘sar kot’.
One of the oldest, and most famous shop is Thean Chun, or fondly known as Hall Of Mirrors
Overall, it was a good breakfast. My choices would be their Caramel Custard and Chicken & Prawn Hor Fun. Definitely will drop by again for this.
If you want a nice quiet place to have breakfast, this is not the place. If you want a good dim sum breakfast, this is quite good.
I love the Lo Mai Kai, the fried fish ball was good but I I prefer the one by Mee Bon Ipoh Road.
林烽蕉叶炒粿条是怡保最著名的炒粿条。档位 设于怡保旧街场“南香茶室”。
Nam Heong is famous for its "Ipoh White Coffee" and that's the founder for 'OldTown White Coffee', that you could easily find in Malaysia.
It is known for whipping up the best fresh water prawn dish in Ipoh.
The restaurant is an all time favourite among many of us, the food is pretty fantastic-licious there.
The food was exceptionally fresh and delicious and our favorite was those outstanding big steamed springy fish balls.
Overall it was a good excursion to Ipoh to try out the fares at Nam Heong Food Court.
They sell for variety of pau which is the Pau Kaya, Pau Kacang, Pau Ayam and Pau Daging. Best halal Pao.
Yik Mun could be worth a stop to recharge if you are bored of the usual R&R. At least you are guaranteed of good food and coffee.
To find this place, drive along Jalan Queen in Pasir Pinji. When you see a small stall under a tree and in front of a single-storey house with sloping driveway, you’ve reached your destination.
无论如何,芳记花生糊还是值得你腾出胃的一部分空间,把它装回家~~
Very interesting meal of Chicken Bread, famous in Kampar. The bread is sweet. Chicken Curry is very fragrant, not too spicy.
Kong Heng restaurant is my favourite visit every time I am at Ipoh. This changed one day wheny family arrived at the restaurant late at 3pm and many of the stalls were closing. The chicken rice stall owner welcome us and we ordered from him. Bad experience started when the chicken rice stall owner deliver the food and my wife questioning the price inconsistency. The chicken rice stall owner clarify the price and become agitated, started raising his voice and claimed that we unfairly accused him charging excessive. I have to calm him down! He keep on raising his voice on us for a minute. I did not choose to quarrel with him as I do not want to show bad example to my daughter. His chicken rice is okay but the very poor service and attitude toward customer make us stop visiting to Kong Heng again. Other stalls in the restaurant services are good by Malaysia standard. The chicken rice stall leave a very bad name to Kong Heng restaurant Ipoh. I do not think I am the first customer to get bad experience from him. I advise future customer not to question or argue with him in order to have peaceful meal.
Have to go early though to catch the Chee Cheong Fun, the Hainanese Pau or dumplings and to try their famous Lenggong Fried Noodles.....
With this visit, now I know why some called them the best curry noodles in Ipoh. The best? Maybe not to me but they sure are amongst the good ones that I’ve tried.
