• Thanks to Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur, we spent an great night at Gobo Upstairs last weeks. Modern and refined food, awesome companions – our evening couldn’t be better than this after a long day at work.

• The stage is set. Set for some scrumptious steaks and I’m talking about Gobo Upstairs in Traders Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The new Chef there – Chef Mun has just recently taken over the stoves and pans at Gobo Upstairs to welcome and entice diners with his signature Grilled Tomahawk and other fine cuisines.

• The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the Tomahawk Steak, which we shall describe more about later, but this collage encapsulates the different faces of Chef, serious, candid, friendly. For information, a 1.5kg grilled tomahawk for sharing is RM820 nett. I think it can easily feed 4-5 hungry ones.

• The Beef Carpaccio (RM35) is a classic starter, done beautifully. Angus beef is thinly sliced, and topped with arugula, fine capers, semi dried cherry tomatoes, caramelised onions, herbed oil, fresh shaved Parmesan and Parmesan foam. I loved this!
