Afternoon tea @ STG Tea House Cafe
I like their Assam Nyonya with seafood.... But more gravy will be better!
I can’t say anything about the mentioned dishes since we did not try any of them. But based on our own experience, there was nothing to complain about the food or the service.
Honestly, food serve here is good. If you don't want to gusty for sit in the most famous kopitiam at Old Town, here is another alternative for good Ipoh local breakfast.
Fook Kee Fried Noodle 福记炒粉
We tried two out of their six options: ‘Jin Hiong Mai’ (煎香米) and ‘Chao Kap Dai’ (炒及底) @ RM5 and RM5.50 respectively. The crowd’s favorite – ‘Jin Hiong Mai’ is a fried vermicelli noodle dish with gravy, while ‘Chao Kap Dai’ is a fried noodle with all the ingredients available at their stall such as pork slices, prawns and fish cakes. Both are equally delicious in their own right.
For me, nothing beats the icy cold ice-ball that soothes the throat and cools down the body during the hot weather. It's delicious.
The wooden double door opens into a dining restaurant of Chinese origin that is heavily influenced by Thai tastebuds.
This dining experience at Yum Yum left me with wanting more. Not because of the portions, which were sufficient for 8-10 pax. But more to because of the cooking.
It is located behind Tesco.
The Fried Eggplant/Brinjal (RM8, small) was the other dish recommended by the waitress and it was tasty. For one who doesn't take eggplant, i took this. The other Fried Eggplant i had was in Ijok but unlike that, this was cut into thin strips. Felt like i was eating potatoes. I can imagine this as a finger food, eating only this while watching a movie. Eggplant is good for health, but (being health conscious awhile) i learned that fried in oil isn't the same as it absorbs the oil. Guilty pleasure.
Foh San can never be the place for breakfast; otherwise, you gotta be there as early as 5am.
Been there the last time with my boss, the food was rather pricey and not as good as before they move to new place... definitely not worth the price and time to visit...
Most of the Ipoh boys and girls will know this place, as they serve one of the cheapest and best quality food in the town.
One step into Kedai Biskut Sin Eng Heong, you can practically smell the aroma of freshly baked biscuits everywhere. The most popular biscuit sold in the shop is their Fluffy Kaya Puff.
For Papa and Mamarazzi, they are very delicious. The skin have just the right texture and the paste....not sure how to describe the paste....it's not entirely smooth till creamy like...texture more like there is something to chew on..just like people use hand to "lenyek" the beans instead of use machine. That was what they like about it.
Located at Jalan Yau Tet Shin, this restaurant stands at the same row with the famous Lou Wong Bean Sprouts Chicken, attracting many tourists and Ipohians at night, especially during long holidays.
Fish Fillets with buttery sweetened cream... and toppings with some peanuts...I like this!
Most dishes are generally good. You won't go wrong with their Fried Brinjals with Crispy Garlic and Dried Shrimps, Kangkung with Belacan, Petola Soup, and their all time signature items – Dry Fry Black Soy Sauce Chicken, Assam Fish and Steam Minced Pork with Lime.
